“Everyone in our state should have the resources they need to live their healthiest life, and we are working to make this a reality for all Illinoisans by engaging communities, building strategic partnerships, and advancing policies to eliminate racial and economic inequalities in health.”
– Chi Chi Okwu, EverThrive Illinois Executive Director
Our Work
The EverThrive Illinois approach weaves together advocacy, community engagement, and strategic partnerships to collectively fight for necessary, high-quality health care on behalf of all women, children, and families. We confront racial and economic inequality in our health systems, and we mobilize champions of health across Illinois. We use this approach to concentrate our efforts on our focus areas:
- Child & Adolescent Health
- Health Reform
- Immunizations
- Maternal & Infant Mortality
- Reproductive & Contraceptive Justice
We Advance Policy Through Action
We organize people and uplift collective voices so that they are heard throughout the policy development, policy adoption, and policy implementation process. We partner with stakeholders to advocate for legislation and policies that center community voices, improve health care and access to care and eliminate health inequities.
We Partner with Community
We engage community members throughout the state to speak into and shape the programs and policies that impact them directly. Together, we develop educational resources with information to help communities in Illinois take control of their health.
We Foster Collaboration and Innovation
We develop strategic partnerships that bring together community members, health care and social service professionals to work together to eliminate inequities in care. Through partnership and coalition development, we create space to develop innovative solutions that address the most pressing health issues impacting women, children, and families.
